Birthday
So, as I said, I had a lovely birthday with my family. Flowers, breakfast, lunch at Le Pichet, bbq lobster tail for dinner, cupcakes, champagne, strawberries, Gucci necklace, new shoes, dress from Club Monaco, and lots of love.
A Day in the Sun
Monday was a beautifully sunny day in Seattle, and we tried to make the best of it. Miles helped me pull weeds in the garden and spent a lot of time with his dad out on the dock. That little boy could spend literally hours throwing rocks and sticks into the water! As you can [...]
Monday Resolution
Welp, it’s my first Monday Resolution as a 30 year old , so naturally my post will be wiser and more mature. JK. Why is it that we create a big build up of anguish before a milestone birthday, only to wake up the next morning and realize, that we are exactly the same person [...]
Just getting Started
Happy 30th birthday to me!! Is this the end of my youth? Nah, I’m just getting started!! I woke up this morning to my son crying “mama, mommy!” from his crib. So I started my day comforting my little Miles with hugs and kisses while the sounds of my husbands voice drifted in from his [...]
Monday Resolution
Its Monday again, and this monday marks the start of my birthday week. And not just any birthday. On Wednesday I will be turning 30. THIRTY!! I must admit that I’m freaking out a bit. I’ve never really been one to pay much attention to my age. Growing older each year never used to bother [...]
Quote of the Day: January Jones
“I have a great doula who makes sure I’m eating well, with vitamins and teas, and with placenta capsulation…Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins. It’s something I was very hesitant about, but we’re the only mammals who don’t ingest our own placentas. It’s not witch-crafty or anything! I suggest it to all moms!” [...]
A Victorian Vacation
This past weekend my parents took my little trio for a family trip to Victoria, BC. And as is the case with all Perkins/Ahmadi adventures, mishaps, mayhem, silliness, and lots of love ensued. The trip really started the night before with my parents, my husband and I sharing a few bottles of champagne which lead to [...]
Monday Resolution: Calendaring
Calendaring: I’m not sure if you can turn calendar into a verb, but I’m going to, so bear with me. It’s Monday and I’m back from a much needed family trip to Victoria, BC (more on that later). Last week was a bit hellish and I desperately needed a recovery. Between a semi sick toddler [...]
DVF for Baby Gap Starts Today!
It’s time for another yummy designer collaboration. DVF for Gap Kids! Diane von Furstenberg has been one of my favorite designers since I can remember. During my working days, her signature wrap dresses were one of my must have go-to wardrobe pieces. And now [...]
I Honestly Love The Honest Company
A few weeks ago I wrote about Jessica Alba’s new business venture, The Honest Company, which delivers a monthly supply of eco-friendly baby products. I decided to try the free sample of diapers and they’re great. The diapers come in cute little patterns and they have amazing leak protection. Miles happened to be sick the [...]
Marni Mania
So last week was the launch of Marni for H&M, and it was indeed Marni Mania, but not in the way I had hoped. These designer collaborations at H&M are always cray cray, with people camping out the night before so they can get in to snatch up the couture inspired goodies. However, I was [...]

Monday Resolution: Nails, Nails, Nails
Happy, happy Monday mamas! It’s the start of another week and I am happy to be back home after a busy week in SF. A lot of what I like to blog about involves finding those few things that help me to maintain my grasp on womanhood; because motherhood and womanhood can easily become two [...]

Jessica Simpson posing nude on the April cover of Elle – Hot or not? Or just played out? I know Jessica Simpson is supposed to be a fashion powerhouse, but I have NOT been impressed with her pregnancy looks. I guess in general, I’m not in love with her style. She always looks a bit [...]
Weekly Resolution
Hi Friends! Sorry I haven’t posted the past few days, but my family and I are on a trip to San Francisco so the days are full of walking which leads to nights of exhaustion and early bed times! Anyways, since its already Wednesday, I can’t exactly have my usual Monday resolution. So this will [...]
Springy Lips
Last week my mom and I engaged in some good old fashioned female bonding. Meaning celebrity and fashion gossiping followed with a bit of retail therapy. We had one of those shopping days where everything comes together. I got exactly what I needed and Miles had a great time tagging along with the ladies. I [...]
Happy Read Across America Day
Today is Read Across America Day. So, in honor of one of thr best activities, reading, Miles and I are cuddling under a blanket and reading at least one extra book together today. First Thursday at the Seattle Art Museum
Yesterday we had a family date night. We started with some happy hour pizza at Tutta Bella and finished at the Seattle Art Museum for Free First Thursday. We really wanted to see the Gauguin exhibit, but that part wasn’t free, and since it was nearly 8 pm by the time we arrived, we knew [...]
Quote of the Day: The World’s Oldest Living Couple
Q: How did u both manage to grow as individuals yet not grow apart as a couple? A: “Everyone who plants a seed & harvests the crop celebrates together” We are individuals, but accomplish more together.” The Oldest Married Couple, the Fishers, dispense a few words of marital wisdom. They will be celebrating their 86th [...]

Do your prenatal vitamins make you a bit queasy?
I found that when I took my vitamin in the morning after breakfast I got slightly nauseous, so I started taking the vitamins at night before bed! Now I don't have that sick feeling all morning.
