Oscar Mamas

So, the Oscars were last night, and in general, the show was a total snooze fest.  I mean, I was completely BORED.  The hosts, Anne Hathaway and James Franco had zero chemistry and Franco's blaze attitude throughout the show was a real disaster.  As far as I'm concerned, the best part of their hosting gig was Anne's 8 different looks.  Thank God for fashion!  Speaking of which, I wanted to pay a quick homage to my favorite celebrity mom looks from last night's 2011 Academy Award Red Carpet. Gwyneth Paltrow (mother of two) look regal in this shimmery Calvin Klein dress.

Natalie Portman (pregnant with her first child) had a flawless dress, hair, and make-up trio.  I loved the color of her Rodarte gown.

Sandra Bullock (mom to adopted son Louis).  Although her make-up was a little blah for the Oscars, the dress was insane! Her body looked amazing in the Vera Wang dress.

Halle Berry (mom to 2 year old Nahla).  Ms. Berry almost always looks stunning, but tonight was a major WOW WOW WOW!  She looks like the essence of sexy glamor in the Marchesa gown.  By the way, Marchesa has been shutting down the gown game lately.  I've been loving Marchesa the past few award seasons!

Jennifer Hudson (mom to baby boy David).  Although her orange Versace was a little bit over the top, the girl has lost A LOT of weight, and she is flaunting her hot new body. She looked beautiful last night.

Cate Blanchett (mom to 3 boys).  I always love her interestingly glamorous red carpet choices, and last night was no exception.  She looked lovely in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown and platinum blond bob.  I thought her hair, make-up, and dress went together seamlessly.

Celine Dion (mom of 3).  Um, didn't this woman just give birth to twins a few months ago?  She looked sleek and elegant in her form fitting Armani Prive gown.

I know this post was supposed to be about looks I loved, but I just have to get this off my chest!  One mom look I was not into was Reese Witherspoon (mom of 2).  All the fashion commentators have been swooning over this look, but I'm just not feeling it.  It just seems so 1995 to me.  I think it's supposed to be nod to old glamor, but to me it just looks dated...not timeless.  There, I said it.
