Can I just say how much I LOVE paddle boarding?! I'm 100% obsessed! I literally wake up in the morning jonesing for my board. I finally understand those people who love running, or hiking, or any other endurance sport. I really could never get into those. I do them, but mostly begrudgingly in an effort to scare off my extra weight. I never understood people who enjoyed being exhausted and sweaty running around outside. Well, I guess now I'm part of that club. We got our paddle board last week and we've been on it almost every day since, rain, wind, sun, whatever the weather, we're out there paddling away.
I always heard people say what a great workout it is, but when I'm out there, I don't feel like I'm working out. I'm just gliding around, clearing my mind,and enjoying my own small piece of paradise. I didn't really realize how difficult it was until by the end of last week when i noticed that my body was extremely sore.
It took 30 years for me to find a workout routine that I love and doesn't make me feel like I'm working out, but it was worth the wait.
I understand my workout is a little specific to my lifestyle of living on a lake, but there are a lot of paddle board rental companies, and some great lakes to try them out on, especially in the Seattle area. Plus Groupon has actually featured a couple of great paddle board related deals such as lessons and board rentals. It's a great way to give it a try.
