Monday Resolution: Nails, Nails, Nails

20120312-015906.jpg20120312-014651.jpg Happy, happy Monday mamas! It's the start of another week and I am happy to be back home after a busy week in SF.

A lot of what I like to blog about involves finding those few things that help me to maintain my grasp on womanhood; because motherhood and womanhood can easily become two different things if we allow it to.

We all hear those stories and have those days ourselves where mamas feel like we have lost our "It" after baby. But my mission is to keep my "It," my womanhood.

Everyone's idea of womanhood is different, but for me I've always loved style. So since becoming a mom I try to find ways to keep some form of style within my now dwindling time limits. And sometimes it's just small things that have a big impact on my psyche.

One of those being painted nails and toe nails. Pre baby I regularly indulged in perfectly pretty nails, courtesy of my favorite cute little nail spas. Now, post baby, mani/pedis feel like an unattainable luxury. However, this weekend, while Miles played happily on his own, I had an epiphany: "I have a few minutes of free time, I'm going to paint my toe nails!" I loved the look of my freshly polished toes so much, that I just couldn't resist adding color to my finger nails.

I tend to refrain from painting my nails because if Miles needs attention before they have a chance to dry, then my nails are ruined and I end up back at square 1 anyways. Not to mention between all the scrubbing, washing, and cleaning, my nails never stay painted. Nonetheless, painting my nails made me feel good, so I decided to keep doing it. If I'm honest, I dont think I can keep up the weekly polish, but I'm going to shoot for every two weeks, and maybe even try to squeeze in a professional mani/pedi every couple of months while my husband and Miles have some daddy/son time.

The Sephora Collection at Sephora has a fabulous array of vibrant, high quality colors for cheap! Only $4. I'm currently wearing a blue color called "My Favorite Jeans." I think it's fun, funky, and a good gateway to springy nail colors.
