Jessic Alba's Newest Role: Eco-Friendly Baby Products

Jessica Alba is absolutely one of my favorite celebrity moms.  When I look at her I always think: that's who I want to be when I grow up (despite the fact that shes my age :)).  Seriously though, she has the type of beauty that allows her to look simultaneously cute, sexy, and stunning.  That is seriously hard to pull off.  And have you seen her bikini body??  Its ridiculous.  No one with two kids under the age of 4 should be allowed to look like that.  But what I love the most are the pictures of her at the park with her kids, looking absolutely normal.  She's just too cute.

Now, I have another reason to love her.  On January 17 she launched Honest.com, a service that delivers non-toxic and eco-friendly baby products to your door.  With her team of environmental health experts and successful entrepreneurs, she created a full line of eco-friendly baby products from diapers to bubble bath to home cleaning products.  All the products are free of SLS, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances & dyes, formaldehyde, petrochemicals & common allergens.  With her line and the corresponding e-commerce website, you can choose the products that you want delivered monthly.  Her goal is for parents to have a one stop shop for the baby needs.  It's really an amazing idea.

In the article she penned for the Huffington Post, Alba explains one of the reasons why she created Honest.com (and it seriously hits close to home):

I spent hours and hours researching products for my baby. Then I spent more time jumping from site to site buying products online or running around from one store to another trying to find them. I'd shell out way more money for the products in brown packaging and pictures of nature only to get home and find out the brown diapers I just bought still had ingredients in them I was trying to avoid. And the few products that were actually safer never seemed to work as well as I needed. My dishes didn't get clean. The conditioner wouldn't detangle my daughter's hair and those diapers kept leaking.

YES!  It's like she was inside my brain when she wrote this!  I was actually talking with another mom the other day about how much I hate jumping from store to store to get all the right products, it's extremely annoying.

There are so many reasons why Honest.com is exactly the type of company you want to get behind, but one of the most important  is that this was made by a mom for families.  For example,  Alba expressed that she wanted the bottles to be transparent so you can see how much product you have left in the bottle.  I love that!   Only another mom can truly understand something as important as seeing when you're dangerously close to running out of your child's favorite bubble bath.  Another reason to love The Honest Company is their commitment to giving back.  Honest.com is partnered with Baby2Baby, a non-profit organization that provides baby essentials to needy families.  Need I say more about how awesome this company sounds?

But just in case you needed more info to get you excited, check out these cute diaper designs!  I love how The Honest Company actually has fashionable diapers:

I just signed up for my free trial, so I'm hoping the products and the service are as good as they sound.  Stay tuned to find out!
