First Thursday at the Seattle Art Museum
Yesterday we had a family date night. We started with some happy hour pizza at Tutta Bella and finished at the Seattle Art Museum for Free First Thursday. We really wanted to see the Gauguin exhibit, but that part wasn't free, and since it was nearly 8 pm by the time we arrived, we knew Miles had a limited window so we decided to just take in the permanent collections and limit our visit to 45 minutes. Oh, not to mention that I forgot to bring diapers and Miles desperately needed a diaper change about 15 minutes after we arrived (if you know what I mean). Oye! One of these days I'm going to be organized, but until then, my family will just have to settle for me. Nonetheless, our short and sweet visit was better than no visit. :)
Anyways, I actually discovered that the SAM has a couple of great little play areas for kids, so we got some culture and some play time all in one trip. The SAM also has a listening room where they feature a DJ spinning a mixture of Motown and Funk. So we even got to throw in a little dancing to our family date. Seriously, dinner, art, playing, and dancing? It doesn't get much better than that.
